Jack and Jill of America
Jack and Jill of America is a national nonprofit organization that strives to strengthen children and develop their leadership potential through programming, community service, advocacy and philanthropic giving. BGCLC collaborates with Jack and Jill to enhance Club programming while providing opportunities to Jack and Jill youth to develop leadership skills.
Jack and Jill of America aims to give children the kind of experiences and skills we all hope to give our children. With outings and activities ranging from educational to cultural to social, the network of African-American mothers strives to raise their own children as leaders and to ensure other children have opportunities for such experiences as well.
On April 27, 2012, Jack & Jill came to the Genesee Site enhancing our Triple Play programming by providing Club members with a pregame stretch, relay races, and a healthy snack. As part of Triple Play programming, Club members enhanced their physical fitness in a way that was fun. Club members also learned that switching from a can of soda at lunch to chocolate milk could provide them with needed protein and more energy over a longer period.
