What is the mission of Boys & Girls Club of Lake County?

To inspire all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

How is Boys & Girls Club different from other youth organizations?

Boys & Girls Club provides age appropriate programming for youth ages 6 through end of high school. Our members are able to find a unique sense of belonging at the Club. Club sites are open everyday after-school and in the summer and are run by trained youth development professionals. The Club offers a wide variety of programs that build character, enhance education, cultivate creativity, encourage healthy lifestyles and teach good citizenship. Creating this kind of environment gives our members the opportunity to learn from a variety of activities and programs.

How do I become a Club Member?

We are always accepting new Club Members! To apply, a parent or guardian must fill out and submit an application. Applications are available during business hours at the Administration Office or online. Additionally, applications are available during programming hours at all Club sites, including Spanish version.

What ages does the Club serve?

The Club serves young people ages 6 through the end of high school. Our Teen Center, in Waukegan, specifically serves youth ages 13 through end of high school.

Can siblings/family members use the same application?

No. An application must be submitted for each individual child.

Where do I submit my application?

Once completed, the parent or guardian may submit the application(s) along with the program fee(s), to the Administration Office. During programming hours, applications may be submitted at the Club site the child will be attending.

What happens after I submit my application?

Upon receiving the application and membership fee, parent(s) or guardian(s) will participate in a brief mandatory Club orientation. Following orientation the child is officially enrolled as a Club Member and can attend that day!

Note: Due to spacial limitations, some sites may be wait-listed. In this event, applications will be kept on file. Membership fees won’t be due until space is available.

How much is a membership?

Boys & Girls Club after-school program fee is $20.00 for 36 weeks (less than 55 cents a week). The summer program fee is $100.00 for 10 weeks.

What payment methods can I use?

All sites accept cash or money orders. Credit cards can only be accepted through the Administration Office.
